After a promising-turned-nightmare season for the unlucky Washington franchise, they were blessed with an offseason filled with a plethora of draft picks and cap space. Although it is far too early to tell, the franchise seems to be trending in a positive direction, with numerous experts praising their selections in the draft and free agent signings.

The team certainly isn't youthful, but this may very well be new General Manager Adam Peters' plan for Heisman winner Jayden Daniels to feel comfortable as fast as he can. Signing veteran safety blankets such as Zach Ertz and Austin Ekeler, getting some proven offensive line help in Tyler Biadasz and Nick Allegreti, and grabbing an experienced journeyman backup QB in Marcus Mariota were all excellent decisions that any young franchise player would want done as soon as they arrive to camp and sign a contract.

The early-to-mid round selections of WR Luke McCaffrey and TE Ben Sinnott also filled some much-needed holes in the offense due to key departures.

The defense is certainly one of the most bolstered in the entire league, with great acquisitions to the defensive line and secondary, but even better ones at linebacker. Frankie Luvu may very well be the best signing and contract of the entire offseason, and future Hall-of-Famer Bobby Wagner still has a lot left in the tank.

The selection of Johnny Newton solidifies this front four as the scariest in the league, and national champion Mike Saintrisil was one of the best value picks at defensive back. The addition of former rookie of the year Jeremy Chinn also somewhat takes the blow off of the departure of Kamren Curl.

This is poised to be the most exciting season for this franchise since the Kirk Cousins era, and therefore there are high hopes, but also temper expectations by putting such immense pressure on a rookie QB.
